Noel - you understand my pain all too well! I am trying something a bit sneaky - I invited my service advisor to the dinner on saturday, thus putting him on the spot to have the car done by then.

On an aside, what is this 'eat/sleep' you are referring to?!?

PS: Noel - are you coming on Saturday?

Hi Ming...I live here in Canada so the parts with the exchange was really high. I will dig out the work order estimate and I will post the prices for you. I'll have to post it around 7pm as I don't have e-mail or internet access at the shop.

Dan,

Ferrari of SF did that to me when I bought my Speciale 3 years ago. They promised 1 week for the 30k, but took 2 weeks. That 2 weeks felt more like 2 months. I cant sleep/eat thinking about the day I will pick up the car.

Just hang in there.

I did a full 30k service,on a 456gt and it took me 2 1/2 days to complete. The timing belts are easy to replace, in fact easier than on a 308. The cost of the parts is completely rediculous. I could not beleive the prices that they were asking for the stuff. I almost fell off my chair. 40 hours does seem to be a little high for the service. I had the timing belts done in about 6-7 hours. The rest of the time was spent changing fliuds, hoses, etc.

Well, it started work last tuesday or wednesday, and originally we thought end of this week, but now I'm hearing maybe not even then.

You can see what is done in your owners manual to take all that time. I will bet it takes them less than that but if i was to do it 40 hrs seems about right.

Ok, so I understand that all belts / hoses, etc. get replaced - but can someone in more detail explain to me exactly what happens in the service that makes it a 40 hour long process?

In short, why is my car away from me for so long?? :-)
