Indeed...my mistake...I was in such a rush I forgot to mention the make/model...it is a 1989 328 GTS...thanks for all the info, but I happened to be near a local mechanic and he replace the hose (from NAPA as suggested) for $30 (including parts/labor) without having to remove the rear tire. The right tools and the know-how (albeit, not a Ferrari mechanic) and presto...all fixed (with extra sleeve on fuel line), AND he gave me an extra 1' of the stuff to keep in the truck. |

Perhaps you could tell us what model you have. Then you might get some meaningful advice. |

Oh wait, which side of the pond is my left hand? It's the side the fuel filler is on.

What are you working on? The fuel pump on my '78 308 is on the left side of the car below the L/H tank. DJ |

On a 328 (and presumably 308s as well), the fuel pump is accessed via the right rear wheel opening. Removing the tire and wheel well isn't that difficult, once you get the corner jacked up and supported. I've always been a bit paranoid about working with jack stands, but a portable low rise lift only runs about $1400, delivered. |

Mid afternoon ride...smell of fuel...turned off highway and noticed the fuel hose has been worn away and was leaking. Funny thing is I was going to replace this weekend. Problem: How do I remove/replace the hose (~1 foot)...do I have to remove the rear, right tire and fender to get at connection at fuel pump? I read the threads about changing it, but no one mentioned how to get at the clamps. Immediate help is appreciated. |
