I have never had any problems bleeding the brakes in any order I choose, whatsoever.

Since this is a thread about 308 brakes, I thought I would ask this question which through searching I haven't found a definitive answer to. What brake fluid are you pre-80's 308 owners using? What's a good all-around, plus a track event once or twice a year?

I agree that is the practice used for all cars, but, the 308 WSM calls for bleeding the front brakes first, then the rears. I too thought it was odd, but I did it that way and I haven't experienced any problems... I suppose either way will work.

It appears the driver's side rear caliper has the longest brake line, from the diagram in the PC.

When bleeding the brakes, I normally do the passenger-side rear caliper first since on most cars, it's the furthest from the master cylinder. On my 308, however, I do the driver-side rear first since it *appears* to be farther away. It occured to me tonight as I was doing it that I might be making a false assumption. Am I?

(Tried searching the archives, couldn't find a definitive answer.) Thanks in advance.
