Henry, please post your results or mail me when you get around to the work. I replaced my steering rack several months back and thought (in hindsight) it would have been good to consider the bushings as well. It was a real pain at the time and would have been better to get it done all at once. Nonetheless, I will probably look at bushings after next season (I drive until snow as well!). I'd really appreciate your input on the materials, installation etc. |

Reviewing the parts manual, there are a total of 24 suspensions bushings for both the front and rear suspensions, in 4 different sizes, for the TR. It appears that, while the group-buy bushings are too big for the 308, no one is sure that they will fit the TR, either. It seems that I will just have to wait, till I actually remove some of the bushings, and take actual measurements of them........I don't want to do it now, and tie up the car, since I am driving the car till the first snow falls. I wouldn't mind having one of these to do some preliminary checks. This would help those people with the bushings be able to sell them, since I can confirm whether or not they will fit the TR. You'll be helping someone out, and get great bushings in the process, if you are able to use someone's "extras" from the group buy that weren't proper for the 308/328. |

Henry, I just sent you an email. As for the dimensions of the bushings on your TR...the best would be to actually pull them off and measure. Alternatively, check with a parts source that knows for sure what is on your vehicle. Though, this is what happened on the group buy...someone said the cars required 2 different bushings and no one checked to make sure before ordering. |

Henry: The dimensions would be appreaciated. I wonder if it will be difficult to tell if they fit, unless one actually pulls an old one off the car. Does anyone know the diminsions of the actual TR bushing(S)......I know there are at least 2 different sizes. I wouldn't mind seeing one of these.......maybe someone can send me one, for a nominal fee, of course. |

Henry: In the screwed up "group buy" of 308 bushings, we got stuck with some oversize bushings. Rumor has it that these bushings fit a TR, but I'm not totally positive. If so, you can have my 8 for a song. |

I put them on my (now former) 79 308 GTB and then drove the car as a daily driver for 22 months (>20K miles). They didn't squeak. |

No, I don't believe they are bad, I'm just curious if anyone has any 'real world' experience with these type of bushings and how the hold up on a car that is actually driven a lot, that is more than 900 miles per month, in all weather except snow, which is how I drive my 328. Also, I was under the impression, that the graphite impregnated style when used with the special grease, were especially immune to squeeking...yet now I cannot find them on the ES website. |

Henry- I too have 8 of the 13.3102G from the ES bushing group buy. If you are interested in these please contact me. I can also give you the dimensions of these bushings if you need. Henry |

David: Are you suggesting that these are bad bushings? |

I have a box full of ES bushings from the infamous "group buy", but have not yet installed them. My biggest concern, longterm, is what happens after a year or two of use driving in all weather conditions (including dreaded rain). Will the grease wash out and I now have a car squeeking like an old buckboard wagon? I believe these were the graphite impregnated ones, but notice that ES makes no mention of that style any longer. |

Thanks Mike: Actually, I don't mind a little upgrade in performance. When I priced the bushings, a while ago.......don't remember the actual price, but do remember that they weren't to be had for a reasonable price....and I will need about 18 of them. I will read the info on the web site you sent. Since I do my own machining, as a hobby, this is what pays for the machines, etc........the savings I get from doing them myself.....plus the enjoyment of my hobby.

I have Energy Suspension graphite-impregnated black polyurethane on my 308QV with 50K miles. I can feel the handling difference when pushing it around turns. I'm sure it will be even more noticeable the next time I take it to the track. Since you're not going to track your car, why not just replace them with stock/factory bushings? Of course, you would still get a better handling car if you go with poly, but the ride will be a little different around turns. You might review the info at www.energysuspension.com/atwork.html

I am planning my Winter project: To replace all the suspension bushings in my 70K miles TR. Since I plan on machining my own bushings, the question is: What "specific" material should I buy?.....urethane.....polyurethane.....rubber.....etc.? I do not track my car, and do not mind the stock ride. The ride so far is good, however, when I look closely at the bushing edges, they show cracks in them.
