Art,
The cooling fan fuse went for the first time in my 355, is this "normal"? Or is it a sign that there must be something (the electric motor) drawing too much current? Thanks. You guys are great!

Usually my fuse goes, not the thermoswitch. Has happened twice in the 3 years, I've owned the car. A very easy fix.

About 3 weeks ago there was a thread on the sequence of the 355 cooling fan operation. There did not seem to be much consensus at that time. After careful obsevation of my 1998 355 I found out the following through a FNA dealer.

1) The Driver's side fan is supposed to kick on first at appx 195 degrees F. (Note that the Driver's side fan will also come on when the A/C is on regardless of the temp.

2) The Passanger's side fan should kick on second, at appx 205 degrees.

My car is a 1998 and I assume other 355 MY are the same.

My car had a bad Driver's side thermoswitch and with that replaced, it now functions correctly. Prior to replacing the switch the Passanger side would kick on "first" at appx 205 degrees F. (the Driver's side only worked with the A/C swithed on.

Hope this helps.
