Its the wiring on the alternator. The main selnoid is fault. no need to replace the whole alternator only the selnoid. |

Art, this sounds like another typical 348 problem. The old-style delco alternators go bad once in a while. I don't know if it is the heat or maybe oil drops from small leaks etc., but I usually just take mine and get it rebuilt. |

A friend of mine had his alternator light go on, then all the lights went on, and the car stopped running. He replaced the batter, alternator light stayed on, but car ran the 60 miles home. Any thoughts? Art |
