If you guys are having electrical or charging problems, like everyone else..forget the delco...e rebuilt or even new one will not help you need more output amps and the nippon...one solves all the problems...at a price..there was a reason that Ferrari switched to the higher output unit..been there myself..

Is this supposedly the Delco alternator (early) or the Nippondenso alternator (late)? Would it match up to the Ferrari bracket? Would it use the same belt pulley?

JRV,
I suspect you're concerned about the LOOONNNGGG cables to the battery. Rightfully so. Only if the regulator uses a separate sense wire to the battery + terminal will regulator be measuring the battery voltage directly. If no sense wire, then the Ferrari regulator will be set for a higher output voltage.

Even so, a regulator swap, or ordering a replacement using the GM number on the Ferrari regulator should take care of that issue.

The housing may be the same, but->

Better have them take a look at the regulator.

I'd be very surprised if they are in fact identical and a direct replacement without issues.

Keep us updated.

My friend Doug Daniels just found out that the 348 alternator is from a Dodge product, a new one costs about $150.00 at your local Chrysler product dealer.
