I will never say that again without knocking on my head first. I have a mess right now!

Thanks Ed :-)

Thomas...unfortunately I have not been able to determine the exact cause of the noise. It was much more pronounced and noticable on startups during the winter months. The noise would eventually diminish and go away after about a minute after startup. Of course, now that it's much warmer, the noise is barely noticeable (just for a brief moment).

I've scheduled a major service later this week, and hopefully the mechanic(s) can fix the problem while under the hood. I'll keep you posted what I find out.

Eric:

Did you determine what was making the "Clackity-clack"? or did it just go away? I have one that seems to be coming from the rear belt tension roller, but it is new.

LOL, thanks for all the comments.

Guess I was too rough on the Ferraris.

Yep, same here...the 308 fired right up, idled normally, with no more clackety-clackety noise from the belt areas -- must be the warm weather! Still think I'll schedule the service appointment though.

I 2'nd that. My car has been running so smooth since I reset the slow (500 & 1000 rpm) mixture to rich. Man, I love my car.

I went to pep boys to get an oilio filter, drew such a big crowd, next time I'll need to get a parade license. (Try that with a supra.)

Oh, nice photo you posted in "who's who" Ed.
