About 6 weeks ago, I reattached mine with a Permatex Brand rearview mirror adhesive (Product #P81844; $2.65 from Napa or Autozone). This was recommended by Brian from Steve Harris Imports. It's a "single use" kit (0.6cc) that's in a card. The glue is so thin that I doubted if it was going to work. Well, it did and still does. Just make sure to scrape carefully all the old adhesive fragments from the glass and rearview mirror base. You may have to hold the latter for a few minutes to hold it in position until the glue cures. Very simple to use and effective. This seems to be a common "problem" with the 328's. When I test drove an '89 328 (7K miles) at FoA last year, the mirror fell too. |

Dave-- The part number on the orignal is 60715400 which chnages over to a 62811700 and should retail from your f-dealer for right around $6. Like JRV I have 14 in stock and unlike the glue, this is a triangle patch that fits perfect on the mirror base.

Well Dave, in your local parts store you'll find generic. I do happen to have in stock the "Last Batch" of SPECIAL FERRARI rear view mirror glue if you want to keep your car all original. It's expensive but well worth it to the right owners. If interested let me know. { } |

The rear view mirror in our 328 came off from the inside of the windshield. Can anyone suggest advise on the best way to re-attach it? Thanks in advance. |
