Tim
The sensor mounted on the gearbox sends a signal to the speedo head for both the odometer and the speed indicator - the fault lies within the speedo head.

I have checked our stock and unfortunately we do not have a speedo, however there is one in the USA :- Ferrari North America, 250 Sylvan Avenue
New Jersey - phone 201-816.2600
and
SA :- Viglietti Motor, 78 Roeland Street
Cape Town - phone 021-464.3560

Alternativly if you can find an electrical shop that is capable of repairing your old head, that maybe be the best solution - it will also keep the odometer reading correct for the history of the car

Cheers

Tim,
The electrical sensor in the gearbox provides the signal for the speedometer and odometer...So, if you're reading speed, the odometer should work, as well. Before ripping the speedo out, try to reset the odometer with the manual knob on the dash...Sometimes, the trip meter will jam and momemtarily cause the odometer to cease functioning....

Regards,
David

I have 79 308gtb and my odometer isn't clocking over the km's as I drive around, and I've just finished restoring the car and rebuilding the engine. The tacho and speedo are indicating properly. I want to know if the odo clicking over is also dependent on the sensor thing that screws into the gearbox and I have to replace it, or if I need to pull the dash apart and investigate or replace the speedo unit. Anybody else had this problem before?
