Well the little Italian came though replaced Both sliders in about a hour. Removed stiching from one end restiched by hand works and looks like was never touched. I can only say he was good and charged me $75.00 I can just wondered what a authorized dealer would have charged for repair. |

I had the entire zipper replaced on my previous 308. It is the coil type. Cost around $80-90 to do, but he recognized it as from a Ferrari; otherwise I bet it would have been $40! Went to an automotive/boat upholstry shop. |

Other issue is the plastic zipper. Under high heat it will deform. You can use a heavy duty plastic zipper or metal replacelment. |

John Parallels my experience exactly. 70+ year old "weather worn" shoemaker, looks at it. Indicates I should go to the coffee shop and get a cup. It'll be fixed by the time I'm back. It was. It was hard work to press $20 into his palm for the work (he wouldn't take it). He loved the car. Marvellous when you get good service. Philip |

John, I think you'll find that the actual zipper coils are OK, it's just that the slider has become too worn. Starts with what seems to be a 1" or 2" long bad spot & deteriorates. Replace the sliders per my procedure linked to by 'The Don's post below. Odds are that will fix you up. Next step is to buy a new zipper & have it sewn by an upholstry shop or shoe shop. My post tells where to get them in any length you need. |

John, Ypu can get a replacement cover from GT car parts or Ferrari of UK. If your seal is fine I would reuse it. Check out Verell's fix http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/partsandservice/how_to_repair_3x8_luggage_compar.htm |

John Go to your local shoe repair place and explain the problem. 5 minutes of work ($20) took care of the zipper problem. Front and rear. |

The rear luggage cover zipper went bad today only one area, but won't fix it's self tried. I know in past this has come up but I am unable to find. Where is best place to purchase new cover and zipper, and what is involved to R&R old to new cover. Cover is in good shape just zipper is broke help what is your direction. Does rubber seal come with cover or reuse seal or buy new seal? |
