Absolutely make sure you are getting spark from BOTH distributors. The flat crank can make a 4 cylinder V-8 sound a lot like an 8 cylinder V-8. I just pull the coil wire it's running, Briggs and Stratton style.

Sounds like distributor is not advancing.Check the timing and see what you get at idle and 5000rpm.

still can't seem to diagnose this problem....this occured shortly after adding some techron to a tank of gas..car was running super...put it away a few days later....car is completly flat with no power throught the rev range....changed the fuel pump (seems to be getting plenty of fuel at the carbs), changed the XR700 modules and along with the signal readers...plus new ps20 crane coils...took carbs off and resealed with new kits including new accelerator pumps...still no power...what might I be missing?
