How do you remove the float from the gas tank? Can this be done without removing the engine? I suspect rust is going to be the problem. |

I had a similar problem in my boxer. I took ou the float, and lo and behold, totally rusted...the wires were falling off. I quickly replaced it, and voila: a perfect fuel gauge reading. I suspect that the float is sticking and taking it out is very easy....see it needs anything like cleaning etc... |

My gasoline gauge seems to only read between half and three fourths of a tank. Once here recently, it did move to full but only dropped to half when I ran that tank out. When I refueled it returned to three fourths. Does this sound like a sending unit problem or a sticking float in the gas tank? Does anyone else have this problem or have a fix for it? |
