I'm in, especially if it's "factory fresh".

Throw in an ashtray lid while you're at it!

I'm considering developing a replacement/repair part or service to address the flawed factory a/c panel we're all suffering. Given that a new OE part is $1700 list....how many of you would pay $200, or pay $400, or pay $600 for a factory fresh exchange 355 a/c panel?

Assume that it would not be the same fragile, bubbling surface that you have now, but that it would appear factory original in every way.

Would appreciate all honest input to acess market viability prior to investing the time/$$.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the info guys.

Dave, you can't use carbon in this case because light needs to shine through the panel to display the different air directions/speeds.

Michael, is your panel on the fritz? Why would you want a deformed part? For the guts inside?
I may take you up on that offer if I understand it correctly.

I understand that you can razor cut the film around the side edges of the panel (removed from car) and get some glue in there to make it sit flat again....and having examined it, I'd guess that in fact it can be done...but I've never tried it. However I would just befoe I popped for a new part.

I could use and even so-so condition used panel if anyone wants to upgrade to a new part, and share the cost with me.

Unfortunatly, I know of no way to repair the control once it`s distorted.
I would suggest just live with it untill you find one reasonably priced.

best regards, jim

Check the archives and our sponsors for carbon fiber alternatives...You can also clean/refinish the existing parts, again check the site archives.

I don't know how or why (other than it's typical Italian engineering, or lack thereof), but my climate control has started to bubble up similar to what the 456 cars do. All this while my car was sitting in my garage! Fine one day, ruined the next!
I'd hate to replace it with another lousy, yet ultra-expensive part if someone knows of a better alternative.

Thanks in advance,
Pino
