Nice! I see I've got at least one chatter thinking. :)

BTW did I tell you about getting caught in a huge plagarism scandal in college? It scarred me for life...

I have yet to receive a photo by the way. There must be a copywrite not allowing anyone to take a picture of one.

Just went through all this battery stuff on my mondial T. A couple of lessons:
Firstly, it is a joke where Ferrari puts the battery, it does seem that the battery location is an afterthought. Wher the battery sits on a Mondial T is scary.

The inerstate battery barely lasted a year (and I drive my car frequently)but they were very good and stood behind the warranty.

Replace your battery with a Optima (I got mine a pepboys--there is a big discussion of this in other threads here - use Search)

I make it a practice of turning "off" the battery on my mondial by turning the battery off switch in the front boot when I park overnight and pulling the plug (drivers side front cowl) on my QV.

The alternators on these cars is barely inadequate and wne we add power amps and high powered headlights and all kinds of other goodies the alt. can't keep up and the battery will eventually fail prematurely (again check the threads here under search). I am pursuing a high powered althernator at www.mean-green.com and Herb has been genrous to try to identify the domestic "delco" equivalent of these alternators if someone can give him a photo.

my 2 cents

Electrical problems, you never see any of those in a Ferrari.

My 87 Mondial Cab is deader than a door nail after a week of sitting in the garage (no lights, clock, nothing!). Funny thing is that it sat for the same period the previous week and started up without a problem. Jumping it across terminals worked OK, but not long after that it was dead again. Will have to trouble-shoot this weekend starting with terminals. I hate electrical problems!

The same thing happened to my 308. I noticed that the cables tend to not be a tight fit when tightened. I filed the ends out at the cable ends so they would close tighter and not hit each other. Haven't had a problem since.

Yeah I had that happen once at that gas station, but I think it was the positive if I remember correctly. I went to start my car after gasing up and presto, nothing, dash lights or anything. I figure the only thing that could go bad that quickly was something to do with the battery so I rolled my car away from the pump and starting taking out all that stuff to get to it and for once actually used the tool kit to do something.

Indeed, I too have replaced many a battery in my 328GTS, that is until I purchased a trickle charger. Easy and worry free. One of the top investments made.

Spend $49.95 and put a battery in the pig.....your mechanic will charge you more than that to tell you that it is bad.

Check battery cables....Hopefully, if you have a Ferrari you have not let 5 pounds of crap gather around the positive terminal. Let us know how it turns out.

Batteries can "just suddenly die", it has happened to me. This would happen if its a few years old.

Had my 86 mondial out for a few hours the other day with no problems. Today I noticed the battery was dead, no light, radio or anything. I did not leave anything on nor a door open. I am not sure how old the battery is but would think a light would at least go on if it just lost juice, The weird thing is the previous owner put in an aftermarket alarm on the car a few year ago. I have never used it and in fact have it disabled via some by pass switches in the glove box. Now with the battery apparetly dead the alarm sweaks when I close the doors. If I determine the battery was ok, how do I find what is draining it? how do I tell if the alarm is run staight off the battery? and why would it all of a sudden drain the battery? and how the heck do I get the battery out? It look like the car was built around it?

thanks for any ideas?
