Something I forgot to mention in any of my previous posts on this subject... Yes, the gear is offset a little, but not really that noticeable! When I put mine together, it didn't look right. I pulled that imput gear off, flipped it over and presto! lined up with the rest of them.

Robert that sends cold chills up and down my spine. I'm glad you didn't damage anything. That is a good "TIP" for clutch replacement proceedures.

10, I'd give you 55, one for every year Ferraris been in business. Seriously though, I'm glad you figured it out because I had no idea and one of these days I'll probably be replacing my clutch so it's good to hear what to look out for.

After sitting down and thinking about it a bit, I had found that I mistakenly put the lower gear on backwards....the stamped numbers on the other two faced out so I followed that and it was wrong..........when replacing the clutch make sure to note direction of gears..they will fit either way...but loose enough clearance on the backside to bind the gear against the housing when installed backwards.....I deserve 10 lashings...

OK, I replaced the clutch in my 82 308 gtbi euro, as I was asking for help a while back about the disc being stuck to the flywheel. It would not break loose so I opted to replace the assembly. It was replaced with the newer style 308, 328 clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing and bearing. Had the flywheel turned and put it all back together. Before I put the cover on the outer gears, I decided to check the movement of the pressure plate moving off the disc. I tried to bump the motor using the starter to get a better look at the access holes on the plate. The motor would not turn over, I depressed the clutch and it spun freely...now keep in mind the car is in neutral........so with reasoning when the car is put in neutral the clutch assembly should turn with the rotation of the crank....so do I have a gear box problem or something worn or not adjusted properly....the problem I had before the clutch replacement is it would crank in neutral, but not go in gear unless put in gear and cranked..because the disc had became stuck to flywheel...This car is eating all of my brain cells any input would be greatly appreciated....
