The worst thing you can do to the car is put it on stands in the winter. Drive the car, it lubicates everything. Have fun!

Mark, everyone is right. You should get it up to operating temperature at least every other week and also move the car around, as said below, to avoid flat spots.

Search the archives for 'winter storage'. This subject has been exhaustively discussed. One of the threads has pointers to Jaguar, Porsche, & classic US car sites winter storage tips.

BTW, unlike the old bias ply tires, flat spots just aren't an issue with modern radials. Especially when over-inflated as described in a couple of the threads. Even the very soft high perf. tires will work out what little flat spot they develop in a few miles. Touring tires don't seem to develop them.

Mark
The main problem with UK roads in the winter is the salt. Try to avoid the roads after they have been slated. I find the best time to take the car out is after it has rained (washes existing salt away) and before they salt again. I take my for a run twice week. If you do get salt on it, wash it down with a hose and dry it off with leather. Put the car in garage and do not cover it. If you cover it the car will sweat and paint will bubble. This happened to me on my old maserati I had. The car will be fine.

I found my TR worked fine in the snow. Until the snow got higher than the front spoiler it's not a problem. Make sure you have proper anti freeze mix and wash off road salt when you get home. If you have trouble maintaining water and oil temp block off rad with cardboard.

I'm told you should never leave a car standing for too long on its wheels as the tyres can develop flatspots. I have also been told that you should make sure the petrol tank is full otherwise you can get condensation developing in there.

I'd recommend JRK's advice - drive it as frequently as possible.

JRK is right - try to drive the car once every couple of weeks. Just a tip never leave your car up on axle stands with the suspension "hanging", after a while this will cause damage to the "foot valves" in the bottom of your shockabsorbers and cause them to seize

Cheers

You need to drive the car in the winter sometimes.
The worst thing you can do is leave it over the winter months. Drive on a dry crisp sunny winter day.

It's my first year of owning a Ferrari and was wondering what you guys do in the winter. I was thinking of putting it up on axle stands, getting the wheels off etc. does this cause any problems leaving the car on stands for a few months?
