Okay, they may need a touch-up... But take care of yourself first my friend.

Drew, Thanks for the info! Boy you are one lucky guy to have had all those past cars!!! Dave, I have been having heart trouble lately, so hopefully I can last to get it ready for its next caretaker! Hans, fairly normal :-) probably a compliment! Here are some photos, how can a person live with this!!!

Dave: Rob's fairly normal in most regards, but not when it comes to the GT4! |

Man Rob, When they determine the disposition of your estate, can I have first dibs on the purchase of your car? Refinished horns no less,...on a GT4! Yup, that's a keeper in my book. :-) |

Hi Robert, I successfully repainted the horns on my Boxer a couple years ago. I did not take the trumpet apart from the base as I was scared of breaking something. I cleaned it up using a fine wire grinding wheel and then successive finer grit sand paper. I then masked off the base portion. The trick is to spray light enough so that the translucence shows through. Go to Tom Yang's web site if you do not get an answer here. There is a thread on this. The closest color match, which I used, is supposedly Testor's candy apple red. Regards, Drew Altemara |

Has anyone tried to take apart the Fiamm air horns to paint the horns? Mine are anodised aluminum and the are starting to corrode. I popped the back off the horn but was to scared to try to remove the horn part. Has anyone successfully attempted this? I was going to try to paint them metallic red to try to match the anodised color. Thanks, Rob Rob |
