From the 2 that I have repaired, there seems to be 2 common problems. Dry joints and bad connection on the pins that interlink the circuit boards. Does anyone have a spare unit that is not working? Paul

[email protected] This is the link to Ferrari in Italy. I was able to get results on the ac/heater part US version pn 151711 or euro 151710. Everyone with a 348 should email these guys to complain about this stupid part (not made by Ferrari), which is no longer being made. You can get rebuilt ones from Hg in Germany for $1650.00 US, about $800 more than the part sold for. I love my car, it runs great, everything works except this crazy ac/heat contraption. |

I agree with all you guys. mine are all over the board. i have to disconnect the battery or the thing will drain over the week. i never have been able to get the clock to properly work, the AC and fans have a mind of their own, and i am beginning to suspect that some of the gauges are painted on cause they never move! :-) !!! Why for 10 minutes? i normally do it for 5-6 an d everything SEEMS fine....yes, no, maybe?? |

I would be most appreciative if someone could find a solution to the damn 348 A/C issues, mine spent 14 hours (dedicated to A/C)in the shop and still no A/C, and that was after they tried all the tricks as descibed under various threads on ferrarichat. Yesterday it was 100f and no A/C, was wishing for a nice boring (any car) with A/C. Only the sound of the Tubi made it worth while. |

Craig, Did you have a chance to try the idle thing ?? By the way - If you are using a battery tender or similar auto-sensing trickle charger - why do you "also" disconnect the battery ( I assume this means using the switch in the front) If using a charger - you do not need to turn the switch off, then you can avoid the 10 minute idle to re-learn. Let us know if this simple solution works for you.

Craig, My control unit totally went south. As far as I know there are no schematics avaible with component listings and operating specs to fix. I know since I took mine apart and found the shorts, no electrical data to fix. I am getting a unit from Ferrari direct I think one of these days, it was shipped. The heat to the windshield is a default spec for this unit when a failure takes place (via Ferrari mechanic). This component is really crazy the way it is built and designed. So if if you remove it and take it apart becareful of Static charge, through hold devices breaking connection, etc. Like Dave said let the car run for 10 minutes or so to let the ECU and the control brain relearn. I wonder if we spoke Italian to it, it would act more friendly? Good luck! Jim Hilton |

First make sure your battery was fully charged. If even a "little" low it will cause the system to mal-function. The other thing is let it idle for at least 10 minutes to re-set the computer if you have had the battery cut off switch engaged. Again, this can cause problems if you don't. Before I started using a battery tender between drives I would get strange functions from my system. Since using the "tender" all problems have stopped. Of course this may not be the cause for your problems. If it is, these hints may save a lot of time and money. Good luck |

alright, i cant take it anymore, heater comes on on hot days, a/c only works on cold days, i checked the archives but couldnt find what i was looking for, didnt i see a fix for this months ago, something about replacing a couple resistors on the back of the climate control panel, or if anybody has the schematic for the panel at least i would have a place to start, thanks Craig |
