Cool, Mike; we will definitely do that. Oh, and I can't take credit...the Lee who is organizing it is Lee Hamner, a new owner of a SWEET black '78 (or '79?) 308 GTS. |

Lee: That's GREAT that you're doing that! I personally know of two other Ferrari owners in Knoxville besides you and Andy. It will be good for y'all to get together. If you do that regularly, we should post your event notices in the FCA News and on the website calendars. I've already put a notice on our site at www.fca-se.com and I've asked Jake Murdock to get with you in case he can do anything to help. Mike |

Andy: Please check out this link! This is to my knowledge a first for the Knoxville area, with more to come! Look forward to meeting you there...you're driving one of my "wanted cars"! Color and all; it looks perfect! Can't wait to hear it. http://www.tennlee.com/invite.html |

Andy, thanks for sharing that experience with us (even if in the wrong catagory). I (we) understand EXACTLY what you mean... Ferrari-Nirvana. |

Notice the "Rookie" rank under my name? I'll re-post on the general... |

I think his description was technical. He added the RPM's at which the engine was making certain sounds and included refernces to double clutching and gear ranges. He even went as far to describe the temp and humidity at which the car ran nicely. Oh well, Andy, I tried! |

Very nice! I bought my 308QV from the previous owner in Knoxville 10 years ago. It was a nice drive home. And it's been nice drives ever since! Of course, before the topic police get on us, this DOES belong in "General" instead of "Technical"...

When life seems totally perfect? I mean NOTHING could be better. Had friends over for dinner and then went out for a "red-car ride" with just the family. Wife riding shotgun and kids in their carseats in the back, almost dozing off (Mondial cab - 4 seats). 10:00PM in Knoxville, TN. 70 degrees and about 95% humidity. Drove out Northshore (which is a semi-windy road that runs along the Tennessee River) and back. Only took 20 minutes, round trip... Air was cool and sticky along the lake. You couldn't see the stars for the dew which hasn't settled yet. Oh, and for the trees that cover the road a lot of the way. The entire price of the car was worth this evening's drive. It was one of those magical drives when you make every upshift smoothly with the right match of rpm's and throttle. Double-clutching every downshift just for the sounds. I love that crack of the throttle... Damn this car sounds good cruising in 4th at 4000-4500 rpm's! I do enjoy the "ripping silk" sound of the occasional blast to the redline in 2nd, followed by a smooth upshift and run to about 5500 in 3rd. But the sounds of on and off the throttle in the mid-range sounds better to me than anything I've ever heard. Ferraris are incredible. My car is probably slower than half of the econoboxes on the road, but I can't imagine anything more rewarding. Wife and daughters think so too, which is what really matters! A superb end to a week of vacation. Here comes reality... -Andy |
