1) Turn on ignition switch 2) Turn on headlights 3) Open trunk lid 4) Remove fuse panel cover 5) Remove two headlight motor relays (check diagram on lid). 6) Turn off ignition switch Total elapsed time: about 30 seconds Boom Shanka, your headlight doors are open, the lights are off, and the ignition is off. 7) Clean headlights 8) Reinstall relays with fingers clear of headlight doors, they go down as soon as the relay is plugged in. |

I really can't believe that Ferrari didn't make this a simple thing to do. When they designed the 348 they included a lever you can pull if the fuel flap doesn't open by pressing the release button and also secondary handles you can pull to open the front and rear compartments if their original levers fail to work for some reason. They must have realised that owners would want to clean the lights without leaving the ignition on or the lights on which can quickly flatten a battery? I'll have an experiment this weekend and see if there is some kind of secret combination of things you can do to make the lights stay up. Justyn. |

You can raise the headlights manually with the knob on top of the motor, but be very careful when you do it! When the headlight reaches the fully open position, it closes by itself, and you don't want your fingers to be in a dangerous position! It's best to pull the headlight motor fuses and/or relays first, then you're really safe. Check section L in your handbook. |

To replace the bulbs in mine, I turned on the headlights, then while they were up, turned OFF the master switch in the engine compartment. Lights stay up, but without power. You will loose clock settings etc.... |

find somewhere safe, just start the car out of gear with the handbrake on, turn lights on, clean lights, job done. |

Sorry if this is a stupid question! I wanted to clean the headlights the other day when I was washing the car but I couldn't see how to make them stay up when the ignition is off (and without the headlights staying on). I have studied the handbook but can find no reference to this anywhere. On my 928 you could turn the ignition off while the headlights were on and then turn the lights off and you would be left with the headlights up but turned off. Can anyone give me a clue please? Thanks, Justyn. |
