Mitchell, Try this trick: Order the same size O ring as stock, but in what is called a Quattro, or double lip seal type o ring.. They are the same size, yet offer a far superior seal. |

I am feeling prety good about the front suspension rebuild I am doing this weekend. So, I am going to try and tackle the last annoyance on my car, the infamous shift shaft seal on the 75GT4 1. New black orings installed 1500 miles ago 2. Immediately leask a little 3. now leaks a lot. I know how the mechanics of how to do this, what I need to know is: are there any tricks/tips of doing this so that it will stop leaking and never again to come back? Viton seals, etc? Use sealants? I tried the slightly bigger orings last time and it did not fit. Plus, it would not shift even if it did. |
