Dom: The door panels aren't that bad. A few small screws around the perimeter, then remove the lock nob and the door handle. You will need to pull/pry off the "L" shaped trim piece that is above the door handle area. Under that are a couple of bigger screws. Be carefull of the wiring for the lights.

Once you've done it, it only takes a couple of minutes.

OK,

I may try to remove the mirror and see if there is anyway I can tighten the mechanism.

I believe you do not have to remove the door panels to remove the mirror? Am I correct? I'd hate to take this thing off, and find out it is going to be a bear to put back in.

Dom, I'm having the same problem with my 246. If I figure something out I'll let you know.

Oh, gawd, they're out in force today.

Mine will swing back to the door at about 100mph. The mirror has two pivots - one at the mirror head, one at the mounting point on the door. I found that if I pivot the mirror head as far to the LEFT as possible (ie - outwards), and then adjust the stem part back to where it returns proper alignment, it helps. On mine, the loose part is at the door mounting pivot.

A fix? I don't know......

Ugh, why did I know I would get these responses? :-)

If the mirror can't be fixed, maybe I should just swap out the chromed mirror for a vitaloni californian?

My GT4 has the old style chrome mirror on the drivers side. If I accelerate quickly, or go fast on the highway, the mirror flops. Then I have to manually adjust it.

Is there anything that can be done to fix this? (i.e. disassemble and tighten) Do I just have to get a new mirror?

Thanks,
Dom
