Frank - the schematic suggests that the right-hand fan is activated by the A/C. Jim S. |

Thanks JRV. No, my a/c system works fine, I just noticed that the parts manual diagram indicated the center fan was connected to the a/c and on my car it is the right fan that comes on when the a/c is on and I was thinking mine may be hooked up wrong. |

The fans are setup that way on purpose. The greatest need for cooling air is for the engine, which has to draw hot condenser air across the radiator to cool. If the AC is not cooling, it's likely you have an AC system issue. Usually (but not always) Low Freon causes poor cooling ability. |

JRV, I was just wondering as the center fan is a different color(yellow) than the other two(black) and appears to have a larger motor which I was thinking would help when the a/c was on . |

Frank, the cars are always the definative answer and overide books....you should be grasping that by now after all "the book says" posts that have been corrected here. however, there's book smarts and REAL smarts and everyone should go with which ever one makes them happy. |

I have noted in several posts that Boxer owners state that the right side fan is the one that comes on when their a/c is turned on. That's what happens in my Boxer too. But, I note in the Boxer parts manual it shows the center fan is the one connected to the a/c system. Does anyone know which is correct ? |
