Gerrit, those scoops are pop-riveted on the top, to metal tabs on the chassis. They can be reached best with a drill if you remove the headlight-pod (or try to squeeze an angle-drill in there, without removing the headlight). To gain any access to these scoops, the whole front grill panel should be removed.

Our GT4's don't come with filters for the vent system. With these scoops off, I made a thin metal frame and wrapped patio-door screen over it to fasten to the scoop. It works, so far no road debris in my face.

Hi Peter,
I will be cleaning up my heater fans over the winter, how do you get them out? I know there is an access panel at the front of each front wheel well, but I haven't figured out yet how to remove the duct from the spolier to the fan motor. Any hints? It isn't obvious (to me) from the parts manual.
Thanks

Andy, Herb has answered your question. Remove the spare and remove the phillips screws that hold the fiberglass panel on. Remove and underneath you will find the two heater boxes, one on each side with the vent hoses coming in and out of them. The heater core hoses are connected to each side also. If they are pop rivets instead of screws that is incorrect. Somebody took a short cut. You will have to drill out the rivets and re-install with screws.

The rear section comes out with a bunch of screws that will allow access to the cores and water valves and connectors. The spare tire carrier is the easy part. You will need some small hands to do all the hoses.
