Will try that this weekend. My break lights are working except one light in the middle is out |

Bret, I did the same exact thing on my 328 rheostat. It only made a little difference, but then it wasn't hard to do either. |

Also check the rheostat (that dimmer wheel thing). Like you figured you have to find a place where all the lights are connected. My rheostat had a little bit of a loose connection in the adjustment wheel itself so all the dash/console lights went out. I just made a little wire piece with two male connections on it (goes into the plug that the rheostat connects in) that essentially hard wires the dash lights (takes the rheostat out of play). It actually made the lights a little brighter than they used to be when all the way turned up, I guess because of the lack of resistance from the rheostat. I never use them on anything but the brightest anyway. |

Check to see if your brake lights are working; a lot of makers tie these into the interior lights as a warning to the driver - i.e. check brake light fuse also good luck! |

My lights went out on all interior gauges and center console. I checked the fuse and that is okay. The manual lists a relay that would have to do with interior lights. Is that true? Would that cause it? I also checked the if while cleaning I just turned the dimmer off. Not the case either. The clock usually gets dimmer when you turn the lights on, that does not change either. |
