The transmission gearbox oil is checked by a allen-head bolt that you can barely see if you look straight down near the area where one of the exhaust pipes crosses near the rear sway bar. This is slightly on the driver's side of center at the back of the engine. The plug is the size of a quarter and it has a dipstick welded to the bolt. You check it when it is not running. You will be best served with a socket-type allen wrench so you can put several extentions on it to be able to reach it. In the attached picture, you would need to access the bolt by reaching in between the red square heat shield and the silver heat shield on the lower side of the driver's side airbox. Your car may look different. Best of luck.

The right front wheel must be removed to get to the battery in the 355. Not sure about the gearbox oil.As I remember isn't receptacle for the gearbox oil in the trunk right under the windshield? Think I just checked it with a stick! |
