Good luck filing with the state. My brand new Chrysler Sebring got it's windshield broken in five places on a 12 mile stretch of S.C. highway that was freshly spread with Pea gravel and tar. This was a main highway no less. I contacted the State and they said that I should have gotten the license plate numbers of the opposing cars that threw up the rocks and caused the damage. 5 line cracks in 12 miles. You be the judge. |

I would suggest filing with the state. Usually they will cover damages or your deducatable. Other times, they will come up with excuses. One typical excuse is, they must know of the road hazard error before you make a claim. Which means.. well no friggin idea. But make the claim and don't expect to hear from them for at minimum 3 months. |

That's why my dad wont condone anything to do with me and getting a motorcycle. For some reason the old man wants to keep me around, hmmm I wonder what he's up to. I don't really want a motorcycle, but saying that I do helps me to con him into the need for go fast goodies for the Ferrari. Now I just have to get him to start paying for those goodies... The panel is steel so it should be able to be smoothed out really nicely by a good shop, and relatively inexpensively. |

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to make a big fuss over the mess that caused this damage. The state probably has a big list of excuses on why they aren't responsible but this is too sloppy for me. If I was on my motorcycle and hit some of those pieces with my front wheel, I probably would not be here today. |

Last year a rock hit my windshield on my 348ts while I was driving down the freeway. My insurance company was going to cover it. The cost was going to be $2300.00. The adjuster ordered the windshield from Ferrari of Los Gatos. Ferrari of Los Gatos had a guy come in with a windshield repair kit. They used my car for the demo. I cannot see the repair. The cracks are gone. I cancelled the replacement windshield. I can always replace it later if needed. Check with your insurance company. They are suppose to use factory parts if you demand it. Tell them anything other than origional Ferrari parts devalue the car. Dan |

Cory, I too have a 328 with a cracked windshield. I called Ferrari of LI and they told me $1200 for the glass plus you need to replace the moulding for a cost of $600 more. The crack is not that large so I decided to wait. |

Queen City in Redmond is the main body shop that F of Seattle uses. I had my front hood done by them and they did a very good job. Owning a dealership, I have a couple of resources for aftermarket windshields. I've never had to replace one but I'd be happy to get you a price. Let me know what you find out and I'll email you with a quote. Good luck, Stu |

Cory- I feel for you.I have had 3 cracked windshields on 2 M3's and on my S4 but never on one of my Ferrari's.There was a few hundred dollar diff between after market and oem but more importantly there was a diff color tint in each case between the two so I did oem on all.In the 328 case it may be more than a few hundred but still I would suggest you go oem-it could effect resale if it was picked up. Have a great reasonable body shop in Portland but I'm sure Tino Perrini at F of Seattle can refer you locally. Good luck It will be perfect don't fret. p.s. The "color tint" refers to the tint running across the top 4 inches of the windshield. |

If any Seattle area Ferrari people know about the Kent freeway construction, be careful. Some concrete pieces just took out my windshield and left quarter panel today. Does anyone know the price diference between O.E.M. and aftermarket windows? How about a body shop for my panel? Will aftermarket ruin my resale value? I have to go now. I'm in shock and my car needs a big hug. |
