Mike first clean it with spray brake cleaner, then I found stuff called P.B .BLASTER works wonders.if your allen bolts strip out on you.or theirs always 1 allready stripped just barley hit it with a mig on a very light setting, with a small nut on end just fill in hole with weld and extract.then replace with hardened allens.... |

Motorcycle chain lube does a good job too. It goes on thin and saturates the workings then the thinner evaporates and leaves a thicker grease behind. |

Consider using white lithium grease instead of WD-40. This comes on spray cans as well. My experience is that WD-40 is good as an initial lubricant, but rather quickly evaporates whereas a light grease is more long lasting. |

For now, I just lubed it with WD-40 and that seemed to do the trick. I have a suspicion that it will act up again though, then I'll start playing with adjusting the latch. Will keep you all posted. Seems this is not uncommon on the 308/328. Have had the car a month and put 1,000 miles on it (25K miles when I bought it), trying to find any potential problems. Can't seem to let it sit still; just gotta drive that thing. So if the door latch is my biggest glitch, I think I got a good one. Mechanically it feels tip top. |

Mike be careful when you adjust the striker on the door post. Be sure to use the correct allen wrench and don't let it round off the edges of the hex head of the bolt. They are softer than a regular bolt. |

There are several threads on this problem. Check the archives. You may want to try a little lubrication though. These are really tricky and frustrating. Had the same problem with mine. Took a lot of patience and time to get the alignment just right. A lot of trial and error. Have patience. Good luck. |

The drivers side door on my 328 doesn't want to close some of the time. Or, it may just partially latch only to become unlatched soon thereafter. Uniquely this is an intermittent problem, never know when it's going to happen. Really weird as the door alignment is fine, seems like the latch just stubbornly refuses to catch some of the time. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
