I found some pictures of the early euro 308, not from the best angle and it looked like the rear edge of the turn signal is even with the leading edge of the nose. That is where I set mine, locked all the movable pieces and welded everything up. Will repaint the bumper black and finish up on sat. Thanks to all that replied. |

If you go to the Classic Car Collection web site there are lots of very good pictures of euro cars. You might be able to see how the bumper lines up. |

Jorma, regarding Bob's question do you find the rear edge of the parking lights now at the front edge of the nose panel? |

I had considered modifing the original mounts, but decided not to make permanent changes that can not be reversed. |

Bob, You may try to cover your bumper with a protective blanket and then slowly drive it up against a sturdy flat concrete wall, the absorbers will more that likey collapse (seals are probably worn out) and you then have recessed bumpers...I did this on the rear bumper and it worked great. Others talked about drilling a hole in the absorbers (sounds dangerous too me) |

I was just wondering. We had a disscussion about this not to long ago on F.C.. It is in the archives now I would think. Go to keyword search and type in various keywords like {bumper conversion, energy absorbers} etc. You may find some info there. |

I have taken the bumper shocks off and making new solid mounts that are shorter. |

Bob, I can't give you the exact specs on that but I'm sure some of the other guys can. The question I have is what proceedure are you using to recess the bumper? |

I am moving my front bumper back on my 79 308GTS, from pictures of non US cars it looks like the trailing edge of the turn signals are at the nose area. This would be about 1.75" back from the US cars. Is this correct or not? Thanks |
