Nick, what is involved in removing the convertors for inspection on a 308 GTS. Thanks, Magoo

You can remove the sensors from the cat cons and see if the slow down 1-4 light still comes on.You said that you felt that the cat was bad,so I am just going off your assumption. The bottom line is the light should not stay on.If you need a copy of a schematic of the circuit, you can e mail me and I will send you a copy of it so you can at least try to find the problem.Nick

So, I really do have a problem? Because the car runs great.

You can replace them with straight pipes, the problem that you probably will have is that all of the stuff that was inside the cat con is now inside the muffler, you will probably find that your actual exhaust is now plugged from the cat con material. That is usually what happens.

My slowdown light for cylinders 1-4 is coming on all the time, even when engine is cold. I have also noticed that there is less exhaust coming out of the left tail pipe than the right. I feel the cat is bad. this car has been in storage for 7 years and maybe run once every two months. It's mine now, it will be run(only16,000 miles)
Can I replace the cats with straight through pipes without damaging the engine or any control modules. I live in the country so I will never get an emission check. Please let me know ASAP.
Thanks
