Mike, as you mention, this is a great site. Be patient, you'll get your brake problem resolved. BTW, Jim Galli's comment below is right on the money... if you want problems, dump the 328 and get a 348!

Replace that camera and post a pic... looking forward to seeing it! Congrats!

Thanks for the info.

I guess I do have the "convex" wheels. It is strange though, that the front spindles (I haven't check the back yet) have the abs sensors and wiring.

I am changing the fluid today so I'll let you know if that fixes the problem.

Pictures will be coming soon. My digital camera was stolen two weeks ago when my truck was broken into and I'm waiting on the insurance check before purchasing another.

Thanks again!

I think you just made the right choice, Mike.
328 are not the most powerfull ones but they at for sure the most beautiful of all.
About your "abs wheels", I think you mean convex wheels. Some 328 with convex wheels do not have ABS.
ABS was an option.
How long do you have the DOT 4 in the system, without beeing changed?
You need to check the braking system urgently.
Maintenance of a Ferrari is VERY important.
Post pictures of your car.

I just purchased my first Ferrari...it's an '88 328 GTSi. The car has the abs wheels, abs sensors on the brake pads, but no discernable abs module...it has a normal master cylinder and booster. The serial number for the car shows that it should be ABS equipped, but even if someone ripped it out and reverted to regular brakes, there are no mounting holes or wiring harnesses that are "laying around". Does anyone have any digital pics of their front trunk area so that I can see what an ABS equipped car looks like?

The problem is that the brakes have absolutely no progression...they're either on or off. If I pump the pedal several times, there seems to be a little progression which leads me to think the master cylinder or the booster is bad. When I called to get parts prices, that is when I discovered this little tidbit of info. The dealer said I might have what he termed as a Ferrari "gem" (not in the good sense of the word, I took it) in that there are cars that are just surprises right from the factory....thoughts?

Thanks for your help. This seems to be a great site.

Mike
