I got a local company in make a replacement for my that costs US$8. A shop with a hydralic press should be able to do so. The actual replacement is quit simple once u have the cable. |

The entire original replacement set was on ebay recently, still in the Ferrari plastic bag. Chrome handle and cable. Nobody had bid on it so if it isn't there it may come back. |

Andrew, the other cable is your back up cable . Obviously your main cable broke with the hood in the open position. You may have to replace the cable but if you are resourceful enough you probably can repair it. |

I had just installed a new set of pedal covers on my 1984 308 when i was pulling the chrome hatch release to access the front hood. The cable snapped right where it plugs into the chrome hatch release. see a pic at http://www.geocities.com/treasureroom/ferrarirealease.jpg As you can the eyelet piece came detached from the cable. Has anyone repaired this problem? I removed the cable from the hatch release inside the front hood. I saw that TWO cables were connected to the front hatch release. What is the other cable for? I was going to use a crimping electrical connector in place of that eyelet piece that snapped off. Any help would be appreciated. |
