Hi Andrew! Good to see you here too!! And yes, you're right: it seems that the 360 Barchetta is in fact the same type as a normal 360 Spider. Not like the Testarossa "Agnelli" Spider, which has VIN type "30", while normal Testarossas have "17". See you later at Telaio! (Yes, I know that I still have to answer too many emails ... :-( Grtx, Edvar |

Hi Edvar I guess you can also add the Agnelli/Montezemolo one-off 360 Barchetta as engine type 'Y' and 53 as the model type. ZFFYT53B000120020 Kind regards Andrew |

Hi Steven, Although I know quite a lot about the VIN of Ferraris (I cooperated with Gerald Roush to make the list in FML), I've never seen an "F" as the fifth digit. The only thing I can think of is that it might be a Canadian version or so. Could you please post the complete 17-digit VIN??? I would appreciate that a lot!! The most complete overview of the Ferrari VIN that I know of, can be found on my own website. It's almost the same as the one in a recent FML: http://www.red-headed.com/vin.html Best regards, Edvar van Daalen |

The Ferrari Market Letter had a great article on how to decode a Ferrari VIN a few months back. Contact Gerald Roush at 770.381.1993. He will sell you a back issue for a few bucks. |

What about calling the dealership or FNA? They would probably know. |

Yes, fifth digit is an F, this is a '98 F355 GTS F1, but I am unable to determine the airbag & restraint system from the VIN decoder, as no F is listed. I think the one I am using is a few years out of date. |

So you mean your vin is ZFFXF4...... I think F does not exist as the 5th digit...but...we never know. |

Printed the "How do I read Ferrari VIN numbers" post on the Ferrari Club website recently, but notice it does not appear to be up to date. Does anyone have a more current key to the VIN's? In case not, does anyone know what the fifth digit safety equipment would be on a '98 F355 if it is coded as "F"??? Thanks, Steve Berman |
