Well I drove the 308 around all weekend and it was great. It is still smoking upon initial start up...and it still obviously concerns me. After about 2 minutes it stops smoking and runs perfectly. It smokes more heavily out of the left bank. Should I not be driving it? The smoke smells like rich gas, not like oil. But I am not positive.

The 02 sensor has no effect on the cold enrichment. It is strictly controlled by the warm up regulator and idle air control valve, or the warm up map programmed into the computer depending on what system your car has. If your car has a rich smell when first started you probably have a warm up regulator going bad, but even in ideal conditions there will be some richness when cold. Regular grade fuel will help this situation. Also the Ferrari exhaust system does not have any drain holes to allow condensation to drain out so therefore you will see more white smoke out the exhaust due to the evaporation of formed water. Your car produces one gallon of water for every gallon of fuel consumed.

From what I've read here, the start up mixture is directly related to the normal mixture so I would check the O2 sensor with should read .45 Volts when warm. That's the easiest thing to start off with.

Normally blue smoke at start up is due to worn valve stem seals.

Hey Bret, you see thats what I thought. But condensation will usually disappear after a second or two, but this smoke has a blueish tint to it and smell like gas. I think it has something to do with the start up fuel mixture being a little rich.

Is it condensation? If it has a clear white color to it then it's just burning off condensation in the engine, exhaust, etc. My car does this too (they all probably do) especially when it's cold outside. It does have a smell to it also.

I drive the car often and it runs and drives perfectly. When I fire it up after it has been sitting for a few days, it smokes upon start up. The smoke smells like its gas. Does it have something to do with the warm up regulator or the cold start valve or something? Once she is warmed up, it blows no smoke at all. Only for like 2 minutes after I fire it up. I had my brother follow me to see if he could see or smell any smoke and he saw nothing. I always let the car warm up correctly before its driven. Is this normal? Or is something amiss? I started noticing it about a month ago.
