Some cars including Ferrari will create a whistle sound as the intake air goes around the throttle butterfly when at certain throttle openings. This is a common complaint on Honda Civics. |

I don't know if what I'm hearing is exhaust or air-box. The sound is a whine at certain gas pedal positions (regardless of gear or speed). I only hear it on the engine air intake side(passenger side) Anyone else have this whine? |

I was on this thread last year. What ended up working for me is stainless steel sheet metal. I went to a local fabricator, and he gave me some scrap for free. Wrapped it in a circle, and stuck it in the offending pipe, fixed! One one was whistling, and it is still in there, over one year later....And I drive this car several times a week, year round. |

My cure was this....I got some of that foam insulation in a can from the hardware store....just a couple sprays up each exaust pipe and let it harden overnight.....viola!!!...NO MORE WHISTLE!!........just a bit of downside..........the car doesn't run anymore. |

I used a heavier gauge sheet metal, like heating ducts are made from and mine works and stays put. |

I had the whistle when I had my QV. I ended up going to Pep Boys and getting some really high temp epoxy (1200+ degrees or something like that). It came in a small brown bottle if I remember correctly. I just spread it in with a popsicle stick to fill in the baffles. Worked great for a couple of months until I sold the car. Probably still good. |

I found some alumiumn siding in the ole garage. I cut it about 5 inches wide and curled it up until I got a full circle. With the painted side out I hammered it into the rear baffles. Boy it was in there real good too. I took the car out for a fast hard drive. Boy did it sound good. no whistle. Of course I let it warm up before I shifted at 7500RPM. Tonight, I checked, I blew them all out except for one. I'm impressed. I must be getting some real exhaust pressure without those cats on the car. I thought yawl would enjoy this. HAHA So now I'll try something different, I just don;t know what different is yet. Tifosi1 Kelly |
