Hi:
The asked price is 35K EURO, which is about 31,000 USD, but TR run at max. 50K here in europe. You say deduct 30K, sound right, which would make it a buyer at 20K, right? Thanks

Where's clyde when you need him (FList joke)! I'd deduct for the whole enchilada ~$30K (assuming that you'd have to get another reasonable complete gearbox/diff core and then put some work into that). If the seller thinks it's any less to fix then why aren't they fixing it? Even to fix a minor internal gearbox problem is a boatload of labor if engine/gearbox separation is req'd. Advantage -- buyer IMHO. What price was it "offered" at?

Be more specific. I am aware that a weak point of the TR is the differential and transmission -- should be easier on them (drive hard but not abusively). Never heard of the "typical differential" problem -- sounds like something you need to fix now. Be careful maybe a bigger problem than you think. Maybe someone else here knows.

Hello:
I have been offered a 05/1990 Testarossa with 30K miles, with the "typical differential" problem. Does anyone know about this, what parts does it involve, pinion gear?
Does it also affect the transmission?
How expensive can the parts get? Thank you.
