Put it on the passenger seat. That way you can dip your finger in during a race and tast if you still have "high Octane".... that for a comment with no sense. I'd bring it up front to get more balanced. The TR is rear heavy. Bring the battery and fuel up front. A good point though is how this will affect the overall handling. I'd take the risk though and if you feel it does not do you any good have it changed to the center after CAVALLINO. Fact is, it should be up front to balance the car better, but again, that could have a negative effect on handling. You gotta try! |

When preparing a 308 for SCCA GT-2 it's mandated the fuel cell go up front, but I don't know why. Your race builder should have a set of scales to weigh each corner. You want the car as balanced as possible. |

William, I also like the idea of keeping the fuel centrally located. The concept is to locate mass centrally and as low as possible. You need to consider your racing MPG and length of events to size your fuel cell. You don't want to carry more fuel (weight) than you need. Also the central location would be safer in most crash situations. |

All real GT cars place the fuel load between the axles, the original location is as good as any. You may not need the full capacity, what is the main purpose for the car? |

William, I don't think it's just a saftey issue. ATL fuel cell's main purpose is saftey. But you may think about the car's change with all that fuel weight up front, then when you burn it through the race it will change again. The existing position should not change the handleing as much as a full fuel load up front. My 911 had a big difference in the way it handled with a light or heavey fuel load. |

Need some advice on my 512TR project. My mechanic says to use the original gas tanks between the engine & cockpit & send them to ATL to b converted into fuel cells but the race car builder wants the fuel cell up front. Which is safer ? thanks |
