My amp is quite large and is therefore mounted right behind the radiator of my Mondial. It is screwed onto a piece of 1/4" plywood, which is in turn bolted to the back of the fiberglass spare tire well (facing the spare) and secured with wing nuts on 4" carriage bolts so that it can be removed to get to the spare. The wires go through the steel portion of the fire wall behind the spare very near the left edge of the center section and then directly to the radio. Make sure to line the hole in the firewall or it will eventually cut the wires. It's already crowded under there, so be careful where you drill.

Thanks I have seen that, I might go that way but I still need to run a line to the battery via the firewall

FWIW, the amp in my 92 was mounted under the driver seat...

Thinking of adding an amp to my stereo system, plan to mount it up front in the mondial like I have seen some of you other guys do. Looks like the holes in the firewall where current electric wires go is too tight to fit another set of wires. Wheres the best place to put a hole and how does one go about it?
