Michael, Yes this is correct. The black you see is actually a protective coating. The same thing that is sprayed over the frame in the engine compartment. The molding is like weather stripping on the door of your house, it gives a better seal. |

Yes, it is hard to find photos of cars showing that area of the car. It seems this question has been a difficult one to answer, even for Mondial owners. The owner of the car I'm looking at said all Ferraris are that way. That makes me question, what about say... a red on tan car? Or a silver on blue? |

Both my 89 and 92 have black hinges...but so was the rest of the car so that probably is not much help. Looking through my "Original Ferrari V8" book, page 70-71, it appears as though a red Mondials (and that is all of them except the T on page 71) are red with black hinges but it is not definitive. Sorry but that is the best I can do for you... |

Opps, didn't catch that. Well, can't you at least tell me what the color of the door hinge area in your gorgeous car is? Sorry for my ignorance folks, I'm new to Ferrari. |

Wow. A real classic! How many horse power in that 1882 carriage? 1? 2? 4? Ok, stupid, but somebody had to do it, right? >-) |

I'm looking at an 82' Mondial 8 red/blk that was repainted. I noticed the front inside area of the doors where the hinges are is black and not red like the rest of body. Also the car has door moldings down the sides. I have never seen these moldings on any other Mondials. Is this correct? |
