Steve,

I'm happy to hear you've decided to maintain originality. Yes, that's what I meant by the post. I also wanted to post the picture as a reference on the very early 308 GTBs which had the badge on the passenger's side. It appears that the badge went to the driver's side in 1977.

My 82 European had just the one badge. I cut the "speed nuts" off of the badge, cut 6-32 threads on the mounting pins with a die and reattached the badge with wing nuts (hex nuts can also be used). The badge metal is very soft so don't tighten the nuts too tight. Other badges can be similarly attached. This way you can remove the badge to clean it and the body behind it-great for concours.

Barry,
Lovely ferrari. I take it your advocating keeping it OEM,ie. asymetrical. I've decided to leave it alone.
Thanks for the comment.

Steve,

I just thought I'd post this picture of my 1976 GTB. The single Designo de Pinninfarina badge on the passenger side "balances" the single mirror on the driver's side.

Thanks for the vote Jim. I'm all for original too. Off topic, but to save a new thread, can I put non metric tires on the 390mm wheels?

My 328 has a single badge. I wouldn't add a 2nd badge, it amuses me to see who spots it and who doesn't. Besides, originality counts. Save the $36 for the 2nd badge and buy gas.

Jay:
Loved the win last night. What do you think about adding a second badge on the passenger side to balance out the look? I noticed that all of the later cars carry symetrical Pinnin badges. Would this be a grotesque move?

SOURCE FOR 308 "Designo de Pinninfarina"??

My badge is a bit the worse for wear, anyone
other than ItalianCarParts sell them? (Haven't tried T.Rutlands yet.)

Thanks all for the badge info. Actually, I kind of like the balanced look of the symetrical badging of the newer cars, but will go with the factory specs and keep it as is.

Hey Jay, getting ready for the Leafs/Canes game? GO LEAFS! Born and raised in TO myself, but moved out to sunny California after college.

Again, thanks to you all for the info. Hope to be posting pics of my first Ferrari by next weekend!

The 308 spare parts manual only shows one badge on the drivers side for US version.

Early 308 GTBs like mine have a single badge on the passenger side. I think they moved it to the driver's side in 1977. But there has only been one Pinninfarina badge on all 308s.

Hello Again:
One other minor item I noticed on my inspection: there was only a single badge on the drivers side. Is this the correct? Should there be a matching badge on the passenger side? I've noticed different side badging on various cars including some with both sides. What is the "factory" condition?
TIA again.

Steve
