What year was your 8? It may still use mechanical systems to change air-flow (a lever and a wire). It could be that one of the wires has become detached from the vent-flap arm. Simple to reattach, use bicycle brake cable housing to route the wire through, runs ALOT smoother. If its like a more modern car, it'll be vacuum operated, so you probably have a leaking/disconnected/broken hose to the vent-flap mechanism. |

also... battery probs... other day went out in the cold -- car started fine... was getting gas, but left the radio & vent on... got back in car, & car wouldn't start... nice gal in a jeep gave me a jump-start. Drove home & turned off engine. Just to see, I restarted it immediately. No problems. Next morning, car wouldn't start! Tried to trickle charge battery (there might have been a problem with the trickle charger) but to no avail. Tried to jump start the car, but that didn't work either -- it just turned over & over, but didn't catch. So what's the problem? Any ideas? I'm assuming I need a new battery. Even if that's the case, why wouldn't it start with a jump? Thanks for any and all help - really appreciate it! |

Hi.. thanks for all info... Mondial 8... when turn on the vents, it works fine (a/c is crapped out, but that's to be expected)... when I put it on defrost, the air still comes out of the front vents & does not change to go up through the vents pointed at the windshield. What's up with this? Thanks again... (this is, of course, assuming I can get the car started again what w/ the battery problems...!) |
