My testarossa ('89) developed a whine too. I listened under the car and found it to be one of the fuel pumps (2). They are under an access panel under the car. Easy to replace.

Started today. When I move the key to the ACC possition before starting and then after starting I am getting a Whine that is fairly loud that I never heard before. Could this be a fuel pump that is on it's way out? I there a way to test it. Are there two and where are they located. Would rather not get stuck.
