You have something wrong. Maybe a stuck heater valve keeping your heater on all the time. I had a black on black 1986 328GTS , and while it wasn't the best AC in the world, it did keep the car liveable in the hot summers here in georgia

Funny, how hot it is in the cockpit is the last thing I think about while driving mine. I'm not sure how hot it really is but with the 95 deg blazing sun in the summer Florida heat it must be --- I guess I'm cooled by adrenaline....

BTW, I always have my vents cracked open to keep air flowing thru.

You guys are nailing them all, I thought that I was the only one that had a car that got ridiculously hot in the summer. Those hot coolant hoses running down the middle of the car are why they went to rear mounted radiators in the 348. The air coming off the radiator is what makes it the hottest I think. I've seen cars that have a lot more foam than mine around the hood and spare tire area. I'm gonna try to seal up my front compartment more and hopefully cut down on the heat entering through the firewall.

I drove my 328 across the TX panhandle last August. Top on, A/C on, hot as hell. Top off, hot as hell. My heater doesn't work (something I didn't discover until a week AFTER I bought the car, shouldn't my inspection have caught that?) No matter, I don't need it. All I have to do is drive 10 minutes and I'm warm, and the windows will come down regardless of outside temp.

If the sun is shinning I have the large area and the rake of the windshield cause quite a bit of heat.

The third heat source into the 308 cockpit is from the large engine coolant tubes running down the central tunnel. Craig -- after 5~10 minutes (i.e., engine coolant temp up but cabin still cool) is the temp of the air coming out of the vents higher than the cabin? If so, then I think you do have a heater valve problem.

Normal in my expierence. Radiator blows heat towards cockpit and engine heat seeps through firewall into cockpit compartment.

Drove my 308 to Las Vegas from Colorado last summer - outside air temp- about 108, couldn't use AC due to overheating problems, even with top off cockpit was like an oven.

Is it normal for the interior temperature of a 308 QV to be uncomfortably warm, when the heater controls are all in the off position?
I've noticed that after about 30 minutes of driving, with an outside temperature of 40-50 degrees F and with the heater turned off, I need to open the windows about 1 inch to keep the interior temperature from being uncomfortable. Do the cables for the heater valves need to be adjusted or do the valves need replacing? With the warm weather approaching, I want to correct this problem, if in fact it can be fixed.
