I had the same problem with the fuel pump fuse. My mechanic fixed it. I'll get the details and post it next week. He told me something about it being just like FIATs in this respect. Anyway I haven't had anymore trouble with it since. I'll let you know as soon as I speak with him. |

Fuel pump fuse holder is very hot, the holder is melting. Sound familiar? Driving along normally, hit a bump in the road, engine cuts out, doesn't restart, no ignition switch lights. Fiddling with the ignition switch, finally allows me to restart. A loose wire connection in the ignition switch is the culprit. This wire is hot too, poor earth contact? Heating has probably loosened the prong, so I now have a bad switch. Jammed in a piece of insulation to force wire to contact switch, to have proper contact. Need a new switch but will try to solder on the prong first. Any comments or help? BTW, a put in a new in line fuse holder to bypass the fuse board fuel pump fuse to prevent further poor contact and high resistance. |

GT car parts in phx 623-780-2200 carries ignition switches, I recall about 125 for it. You can take it apart and adjust it though, sometimes with luck. |

Can anyone give me help on where I can get a replacement ignition switch and how much it costs? Also, I remember a previous thread on making your own fuse box to take the modern type plug-in fuses instead of the bottle fuse. Can anyone remember where to buy the fuse holders and if there are special tips to wiring it all up? Comments appreciated! |
