You are right Peter, the ones on my 79 308 were carbon centers and the origs. I replaced them with were carbon. G.T. car parts has those 7mm red wire sets as I mentioned previously. Magoo |

Trent, the caps on my GT4 only take 7mm wire, so I just got myself sets of aftermarket wire, they're red and 7mm, carbon centres. Looking at the original Cavis wire, to me looks like carbon (or am I just seeing crusty old copper wire?) When looking for wires I had these "experts" tell me to just shave 8mm down so it will fit in the holes...give me a break! Nobody seems to sell bulk red 7mm wire, I've seem 100ft rolls of black wire for $20 Cdn, but I wanted red, just like the originals. You can have any colour you want as long as its black... |

Good price Trent, but some of the older 308's had red wires. Also if your trying to keep it orig. this kit comes with the green coil wire shields, wire looms and grommets,boots, brass connectors, pre-cut and ready to install. Magoo |

I dont like the orig wires. They produce quite allot of EMF and have a single strand of copper wound around a soft core. The only people that still use solid core wires are motorcycles, and then only a few. I chose Magnacore wires, they have a set cut to 308 lengths for about $50. They are plain black wires and look factory. |
