You might try checking the thermo time switch. My tr had the same problem and when I changed it the car ran better than ever. It is a regular bosch part and should not cost much.

Magneti Marelli rotors are avaliable only at the specialised F-car shops. Try places like T. Rutlands and Dennis McCann. The rotors for my car at DM were like $28, quite reasonable.

Per the recommendations I received, I cleaned out the distributor caps and took the car out, warned it up and took it up to 6000 rpm several times. This produced no change, it still has no power. However after about 15 minutes it back fired twice and within 2 minutes developed normal power. For the rest of the ride it was fine. I thought the cobwebs were out. The next day I still had to repeat the about and received the same results. Any ideas as to what this could be???

Larry Thanks for the advise. The caps and plugs look ok, the rotor however looks a little worn. Could this possible be the problem? If so, can you purchase these rotors at any auto store? If this is not the problem, what next?
Thanks for your help.

may be some nasty condensation build up. pull the plugs and clean em. take off the dist/caps, spray the inside w/some WD/40. clean em out, put em back on and go run the(warmed)engine up to redline a couple of times.

I have not run my 83 308QV for about 3 months and upon starting it and depressing the gas pedal it seems to have no power and stalls when I take my foot off the gas. I initially thought it was a distributor problem, possibly firing only on one bank of cylinders. However checking the wires, taking off one wire from the
coil to the distributor at a time, did not reveal any change. Could it possible be a vacuum problem? Where should I start to troubleshoot this problem? I know there is an expert out there that
knows the answer.
