Boosters can be rebuilt so I imagine they can be modified as well. The other thing to consider is different pads to give more bite like a normal car that dont require heat first. The down side is being more sensitive to fade with the different pads. If the car is not on a track then a different pad may be the way to go rather than a booster change.

By the way, those american land yachts came with vacuum assisted power brakes just like my 308 has, the valve in the booster along with the spring were calibrated differently to give more assist.

Yes on newer cars they do have power brakes. Octavio that is a great example. That was my understanding of power brakes. I would like a powered booster in my 308. Does anyone make a conversion or booster that would work?

In the real world, power brakes means it has assist. Not a specific type of assist, just assist. Most late model cars have power brakes, some are vacuum from the engine, some use a vacuum pump and some are hydro boost. They are all power assist brakes. My 308 has power brakes. Perhaps Greg should have said I want to put electric brakes on my 308.

Greg is right. When a car has power brakes (as I understand the term) very slight pressure is required on the brake pedal. The most obvious example is american made land yachts that you just tap the brake pedal and practically fly through the windshield.

I am not questioning the term booster. Power brakes are not the same as non-power brakes. This is my point. I was discussing powered boosters. As I said I didn't think vacuum assist meant power.

I didn't think that the booster was power on the 308s but vacuum assist.

Well, I just spoke with a guy who rebuilds brake boosters and he didn't think there is a way to do anything like this. Anyway, I thought I would try.

I was curious to know can a power brake booster be added to a 308 and would it make for better stopping power. I have seen booster conversions on other cars but I am not sure if other mods would have to be done to make power brakes on a 308.
