A competent mechanic can change the timing belts on your 308, definitely time to do it. I will be glad to help advise the work @ 317 271 9955. |

If it has never had the timing belts changed, you should change them immediately. Every 5 years on belts. |

I have a 83 308 GTS with 20,000 miles on it. It has never had the 15,000 mile service done. At its age now I am thinking about doing the complete 30,000 mile service to make shure no Timing Belt failure occurs. Beyond chastizing for low milage, can anyone with experience help me determine if this service should be done now, or just the 15,000 service. I live in a rather Ferrari remote area, and would have to ship the car for this service, to have it done by a Ferrari Dealer. I do have a very savy mechanic available who has done a lot of work on my 250GT. Is that course of service OK, or should it definitely be sent to the nearest service center?Bill |
