HEY DOUG, If it ain't broke don't fix it. There are many products out there that claim to be carb. cleaners and F.I. cleaners.I have a friend who is a chemist. He says that if a carb. or F.I. cleaner does not have the STODDARD SOLVENT in it you're wasting your money. TECHRON, sometimes called PRO-GARD has this additive. I have used it in all my cars and have seen excellent results. Read the contents of the other brands you will probably find that they don't contain the stoddard additive. Just a suggestion as to what works for me. Magoo

Please don't try to fix a car that runs perfectly. They give enough trouble on their own without teasing them. Over maintenance can be worse than under.

Doug, if your engine runs smooth there is probably no reason to remove your injectors. If the injectors are worn (incorrect spray pattern or leakage), you will most likely experience poor idling/hot start problem.

I must correct myself, treatment is 1.5oz per 10 gallons for the redline fuel treatment.

I have a 83 QV with 65,000 miles and I run Redline oil fuel system cleaner (part# SI-1) in every tankfull(1.5 oz/gallon) and it is approved by Bosch.

I have found in other cars that that Fuel Injector cleaner that is a gas additive works better than you would think. I wouldn't use the stuff regularly, but once in a while is worth it.

Anyone out there ever pull their injectors to have them tested and cleaned? Would this be worthwhile on an '84 308 with 76,000 miles that runs great? If so, is removing the injectors easy. It looks as though it is just the clip holding them in. Any advice?
